HK Trip November 2010 - Day 1 to 4

A long long overdue blog - our trip to HK in November 2010. Just David, Kaelyn and I. Sherryn was only 10 months, and we didnt think we can manage both of them by ourselves without help. Sherryn obviously didnt make a fuss about being left out. In fact she had a happy time with Ye ye, Nai nai, Gong gong and Po po..

We spent a total of 8 days in HK (both departure and arrival days inclusive). It was a good trip overall, visited HK Disneyland, caught up with HK colleagues, saw Pandas etc.

Day 1 - Arrival at Disneyland hotel

Its end November so the Christmas spirit is in the air already. Makes the holiday even more enjoyable.

Day 2 & 3 - Disneyland (Lantau Island)

We were 'pre-warned' that HK Disneyland is very small, and not to get our expectations too high etc. My colleague even hinted to me that 2 days 3 nights is a little too excessive to spend in HK Disneyland. But after the 2nd day in Disneyland, we realised that even 2 days is not enough for us!

The park is smaller than the one in US and Japan, but with Kaelyn around, we cant pack too many activities. Moreover, we spent time on meals (she takes more than an hour to finish each meal!), frequent visits to the toilets, nap times, handling her when she threw tantrums etc..

Breakfast in Enchanted Gardens in the Hotel with the characters

David queued for more than an hour for this photo! I wouldnt have done that if it was just the 2 of us, but Kaelyn insisted on taking photos with her favourite characters...

The drama queen having fun

The shops are so full of toys, characters, souvenirs, colours.

Teacups - she insisted on taking the pink teacup with purple designs. Gosh, I had to keep track of where the teacup ends up while queueing so that we can make a dash for it when its our turn!

Day 4 - Ngong Ping 360 and Big Buddha (Lantau Island)

Before we left Disneyland, we went to Mickey's maze for some fun and took pictures with the princesses. Kaelyn suddenly turned shy when the princesses spoke to her.

We left our baggages at Disneyland before leaving for the Big Buddha via MTR. The cable car ride (called Ngong Ping 360) to the Big Buddha was really enjoyable. It is a 15 - 20 mins ride and the scenery was great. We took a glass bottom cable car so could see the trees beneath us as well.

At the Big Buddha, David carried Kaelyn up 200 over steps! And the girl walked all the way down on her own.
